Between sound, body and image

fluid frame

fluid frame is an ongoing performance format by Gina Schwarz (double bass), Bea von Schrader (dance) and Dieter Puntigam (Tagtool).

At its core is the exploration of in-between spaces as spaces of resonance — areas where connections between sound, body, material and image unfold and transform.

A translucent foil runs through the space. It stretches, yields, moves — a breathing element. It separates and connects at the same time, carries projections and becomes a sounding body itself: touch and friction generate noises that intertwine with the double bass. On its surface, traces of light and images emerge, reminiscent of water — of currents, depth, fragility.

Sound, body and projection stand in relation. The musician moves with and through her instrument, which becomes part of the spatial choreography. The body is a medium — permeable, receiving, transmitting.

Visual traces emerge through live drawing and camera: fragments of the happening reappear elsewhere in the space. Images surface, overlap, disappear.

A breathing structure.
An event in-between.
